As-salaamu'alaykum wa Rahmatu Llahi wa Barakatuhu

I recently heard Mufti Menk mention a wonderful dua' in one of his lectures. Unfortunately I had never heard that dua' before. Then I went on an online hunt for it, and only found it at one site - which made me sad, because I realized chances are, not many others know about it either.

So here it is...I've made it nice and large so it's easy to learn.

Ah yes, so I'm very much on a roll here with these coloring pages. The kids love them, and they seem to remember the hadith better...so insha'Allah I'd like to continue sharing what I can with all the other children out there.

I think I like this one better than the last one (Angry Hadith) - but I'm alone on that thought according to my nephews.


Comment:
Teach your children the importance of being kind to animals (and all creatures). If a person isn't going to free an animal to allow it to find it's own food they need to make sure they feed it (i.e: making sure your pets are fed).

I know, I should be doing better things on a Saturday... *grin*
Anyway, I felt like drawing but not coloring.. so I'll leave that up to your little ones to do.

Teach children the importance of not getting mad and learning to be patient. It's such an important trait to control your anger, that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa-salaam) repeated it several times to the man asking for advice.

The 'Canadian Domain' takes forever to get to, but it's SO worth the walk. How often do YOU get to see grizzly bears! .. better than UFC  *grin*


There are peacocks walking all around, but this guy decided to put on a little show!


Polar bear at feeding time. Polar bears are just too cool, even when they are lazing around being bums!


And here is the 'scavenger hunt'. My nephews did it (ages 7 & 8). It wasn't too difficult for them but once at home you could tell they remembered a lot more about each animal, and enjoyed themselves.

Your child will need a digital camera, this list and maybe a pencil to check off what they find. Don't help them once there.. but make sure you've covered the words in previous lessons. The idea is to get pictures of as many as they can...no pressure, let them enjoy the trip!

I'm done z lesson.. yaaaaaaay! I'm so happy. I thought I wasn't going to get it done, alhumduliLlah.

Seerah Of The Prophet

It is based on the book, "Goodnight Stories from the life of the Prophet Mohammad", published by Goodword.



The lesson plan is designed for children ages 5-6. Since they are so young all I really want them to get from this is general idea of what the Prophet's (salAllahu alayhi wa-salaam) life consisted of, and to build a love for the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa-salaam). So the entire 23 day lesson plan is a scenery! For example when a chapter talks about him traveling to Madinah, we'll be making two camels, and we'll stick that on a wall that has a path set towards 'Madinah' - well.. the cave he hid in. Simple.. fun!

This might not be effective for other children, but I know for Abdullah it is. He also understands we don't use 'images' to represent Prophets, etc. Hence the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa-salaam) is represented with 'the seal'. I however have images to represent Khadija (face removed), Buraq (horse with wings), and the Blind Man (mentioned in the Qur'an). You do not have to use these if don't feel it's right.
