Fearless
Friday, May 07, 2010
This weeks topic for Illustration Friday is "Fearless" - don't mess with the chef! He's actually a character I need for a children's magazine.

Anyway..this is my first time inking in Photoshop (usually I do everything in Illustrator) - It's so much easier to shade in Photoshop, I definitely enjoyed it!

Love the chef. The drooling tells me he's very excited to get cooking!

Assalaamu Alaykum sis,

Great stuff!!! You did in Illy and then did the rest in PS??? I'm using Illustrator more these days but I find it much easier to use than PS (I guess for the kind if stuff I'm using it for). Can I pick your brains about stuff sometimes??? How is it easier to shade in photoshop?

Me again! I know someone who's looking for a website designer. Do you do/are you willing to do stuff like that? Or would you recommend someone? :)

Thank you so much everyone - for the very wonderful comments.

Wa'alaykum as-salaam Fruitfusion... yuppers I drew it in AI (I think most people just scan in their line work, instead of re-drawaing as I did), then I did all the color work in PS. I LOVE Illustrator and have always done most (if not all) my work there. I stayed away from photoshop (because its mostly used for photo images), but now that I've tried inking there I'll be using it more often. You can definitely pick my brain ..haha whenever you want. As for shading, it's much easier to blend colors - I'll email you a video to check out (maybe it'll show what I mean by easier), and let you know about the website.

Take care
Farhana

Hey Farhana! You nailed the photoshop shading! Nice work! I like to drag my illustrations from illustrator to photoshop to do the fine shading as well. Gotta love that tongue!

Nice character design. There is no denying this guy is hungry. Great shading for first time PhotoShoping.

I am really impress. I do not know how to use the photoshop for such effects. As you said, I only use photoshop for photo editing. Care to send in the video?

Hahahaha! What a great character. I'm sure he's a great taste-tester. :D

Great PS work! I work mostly in AI, but I should learn PS more.
